SOCI 207 - Social Inequality

Prerequisite: SOCI 102 or consent of instructor
This course explores inequality in the U.S. within a global context. The class focuses on the major dimensions of social inequality: class, race and ethnicity, and gender. It examines the causes, processes, and consequences of inequality and stratification. Topics covered include wealth and poverty inequality, crime, and criminal justice inequality and health; education and social mobility; and policy questions related to inequality and poverty.
