GEOG 262 - Introduction to Urban Planning

(3 credits)
This course introduces students to U.S. urban and regional planning and broader global issues of urbanization. In addition to theoretical and practical urban planning topics, this course will focus on how planners approach opportunities and challenges presented by distinct urban environments. Students will learn the comprehensive planning process and the interdisciplinary nature of urban and regional planning which requires an understanding of the vital social, economic, geographical, political and technological forces that impact city form and function. Offered fall semester.
