PHYS 100 - Physics in the Natural World

(4 credits)
This course considers the key scientific concepts underlying physics and how they relate to the environment. Among the topics to be considered are mechanics, heat, electricity, magnetism, optics and sound, modern physics and an historical overview of the physical sciences. This course is suitable for majors other than those in the Physical and Biological Sciences seeking basic knowledge of physics. Three hours of lecture and one two-hour laboratory period weekly.
