ANTH 507 - Introduction to the Discipline of Anthropology(3 credits) This course prepares graduate students to pursue other courses in the Applied Anthropology Graduate Certificate Program. It offers students an overview of key concepts, approaches, theoretical frameworks and issues of each of the four subfields of Anthropology, Biological, Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology, and Archaeology. Students will acquire the fundamental practical skills of each discipline including frameworks of analysis, forms of writing and fieldwork. The course will be co-taught by faculty specializing in the subfields. Offered annually.
