TESL 205 - Linguistics for Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language(3 credits) This course provides an introduction to the structure of human language, including the major areas of linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics. Students will analyze the linguistic complexity in second language acquisition, with special attention to the English language, and explore the application of linguistic principles to language teaching. Offered fall, spring and summer. (Formerly TESL 305)
