PHYS 435 - Optics(3 credits)
Prerequisite: Consent of instructor
This lecture (theory) course encompasses electromagnetic theory, ray/geometric optics limit, wave optics and interference phenomena, Fourier optics and modern optical techniques and applications in advanced labs and research laboratories. A final optics project will be required along with professional paper and presentation. Three hours of lecture weekly. Offered alternate years. May be taken for graduate-level credit.
