PHIL 154 - Explaining the Paranormal(3 credits) This course is an introduction to the philosophical application of ideas about personal experience, problem solving, evidence, observation, testimony, theory-acceptance, and proof to claims about paranormal phenomena including ESP, near-death experiences, UFO abductions, psychic forecasting, miracle cures and reincarnation. The course considers the extent and limits of our ability to explain such phenomena as well as the arguments of those who are skeptical about the paranormal. Offered alternate years.
