ENGL 497 - Seminar: World Literatures and Cultures(3 credits) Prerequisite: ENGL 203; and ENGL 223 or 234; and nine additional credits in the major at the 300-level or higher This capstone seminar gives advanced English majors the opportunity for an in-depth study of selected authors and topics in world literatures and cultures. Students are expected to demonstrate a proficiency in interpretation and literary analysis as well as a familiarity with critical theory and major scholarship relating to the seminar topic through close reading, class discussion, oral presentations, and at least one carefully documented scholarly paper.
