ANTH 303 - Archaeological Field Excavation in Prehistoric Sites in New England(3-6 credits) This course provides intensive training in the practical skills of field archaeology. Direction in site survey, excavation tactics and strategy, fieldwork supervision, methods of sampling and on-site analysis is given. The course includes an introduction to laboratory work, covering topics such as cataloging, recognizing lithic materials, metric measurement and flotation of organic samples. Repeatable: may earn a maximum of nine credits. Offered every summer. (Formerly ANTH 403)
