ANTH 303 - Archaeological Field Excavation in Prehistoric Sites in New England(3-6 credits) This course provides intensive training in the practical skills of field archaeology. Direction in site survey, excavation tactics and strategy, fieldwork supervision, methods of sampling and on-site analysis is given. The course includes an introduction to laboratory work, covering topics such as cataloging, recognizing lithic materials, metric measurement and flotation of organic samples. This course may be repeated up to nine credits. Offered every summer. (Formerly ANTH 403)
