Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs):
After completing the MS, students will be able to:
• work independently to defend a system during a cyber-attack;
• collaborate with a team taking on a variety of NICE-defined work roles to stop a cyber-attack in process;
• critically analyze cybersecurity incidents within the broader context of local, regional, national and international cybercrime to best structure their institutional policies and reconfigure systems to defend against future attack;
• facilitate communication regarding cybersecurity incidents with colleagues within a broad range of cybersecurity roles, as well as those outside the field;
• employ specialized software appropriate for each investigative stage;
• execute cybersecurity and digital forensic investigations under appropriate ethical guidelines;
• assess common legal issues within cybersecurity;
• compose a court-ready formal report for diverse types of incidents;
• discuss complex cybersecurity issues within a socially just and ethical framework; and,
• propose solutions for the discrimination, oppression, privilege, and social and economic resources that shape the field of cybersecurity and digital investigation.
