Criminal Justice Major Learning Outcomes


1) Compare different theoretical perspectives on crime and develop a holistic understanding of the criminal legal system and state power, with an emphasis on their social implications. 

2) Identify and gather various forms of data and information, using theoretical, methodological and analytic techniques to critically analyze and evaluate criminological policy, practices and research. 

3) Recognize how social inequalities have shaped contemporary criminal justice institutions, practices, and outcomes and employ their knowledge in action.   

4) Analyze how social, political, and historical forces have created contemporary inequities and demonstrate ways to more effectively serve communities most affected by crime and punishment.
