Secondary Education Major Learning Outcomes

 BSU secondary education students will be able to:

• Analyze the complex and conflicting contexts of public education in order to empathize with multiple perspectives and develop informed points of view.  
• Develop a personal teaching philosophy grounded in known theories of teaching and learning and their classroom experiences.  
• Design learning environments and experiences that include, represent, and engage all learners through effective planning, instruction, and assessment.  
• Reflect on the pedagogy of self and others and its impact on learners in order to continually adapt their practice.  
• Commit to act as social justice allies and leaders in their classrooms, schools, and communities.
