Theatre Arts Major Learning Outcomes


Goal 1: COLLABORATIVE COMMUNICATION

Students who graduate from Bridgewater State University with a major in Theatre Arts are able to engage in open communication; share diverse thoughts, ideas and beliefs and work toward a common creative goal.

 Outcome 1: Students employ teamwork and problem solving skills through collaborating on creative projects.

Goal 2: THEORY IN PRACTICE

Students who graduate from Bridgewater State University with a major in Theatre Arts understand and practically apply fundamental techniques and theories associated with theatrical production.

Outcome 1: Students apply techniques used by Theatre practitioners.

Outcome 2: Students apply theories used by Theatre practitioners.

Goal 3: CRITICAL THINKING

Students who graduate from Bridgewater State University with a major in Theatre Arts employ and develop diverse modes of critical thinking in writing, speaking and creating.

Outcome 1: Students apply critical frameworks in order to write and speak about Theatre.

Outcome 2: Students apply critical perspectives to create the foundation for theatrical production.

Goal 4: ANALYTICAL THINKING

Students who graduate from Bridgewater State University with a major in Theatre Arts utilize analytical skills.

Outcome 1: Students acquire, evaluate and apply analytical models to aspects of theatrical production.
