Upon successful completion of their degree, our M.A. students should be able to:

• Apply formal, rhetorical and theoretical perspectives to literary texts, cultural documents and topics related to language and writing
• Recognize the role of historical and cultural contexts in the interpretive process
• Position an argument within contemporary critical debates in English studies
• Formulate and complete scholarly research projects that offer persuasive arguments
• Employ advanced skills in writing, research, oral and visual presentation to communicate effectively in scholarly and professional contexts
