CHEM 132 - Survey of Chemistry II(4 credits)
Prerequisite: CHEM 131 with a minimum grade of “C-“
The CHEM 131/132 sequence of courses surveys the broad range of topics that comprise the field of chemistry. Topics covered in the second semester include the structure, nomenclature and reactions of organic molecules, enzymes, and the basics of metabolism (concentrating on energy producing pathways). This sequence is designed for students requiring a yearlong course in chemistry, but who are not planning further study in chemistry (except for instrumentation, CHEM 250). Three hours of lecture and one three-hour lab weekly. Offered spring semester only. (CNSL)
