CNSC 520 - Development through the Lifespan for School Counselors

(3 credits)
Prerequisite: Matriculation in the MEd or postmaster’s program in counseling; or consent of instructor
This course offers a graduate level understanding of human development across the lifespan. Theories of learning and development; social, cultural and environmental factors that may affect human development; and strategies for school counselors to promote resiliency and wellness will be examined. While this curse incorporates development across the lifespan, special attention is paid to the development of children and adolescents and the role of the professional school counselor. Offered fall semester.
