ENGL 591 - Topics in the Craft of Creative Writing(3 credits)
This course examines elements of the creative process from the point of view of the writer. Topics may include the deployment of symbol and image, reflexivity and the narrative “I”, characterization, musicality and atmosphere. Students will read critical works about literary craft and will study either fiction or poetry or works along a thematic curve encompassing multiple genres. May be repeated once for different topics. Offered alternate years.
