An introduction to the diversity of microorganisms with emphasis on bacterial growth and metabolism, microbial ecology and host/microbe interactions including infectious disease is presented. Three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory period weekly. Offered spring semester. (Formerly BIOL 428) (CWRM - through fall 2017 only)
